People who are interested in immigrating to Australia and working in Australia should note that according to the latest statistics, half of Australians earn close to A$1,400 a week. Since August 2023, the median weekly wage has increased slightly by 7.4%, from A$1,300 to A$1,396. This means that as of August this year, half of employees were earning at least $1,396 a week from their main job. Overall, the median hourly wage rose to $40, with full-time employees earning a median weekly wage of about $1,700 and part-time employees earning about $691.
In terms of occupational wages, managers have the highest median weekly wages of A$2,100 and professionals at A$1,827; while sales staff and manual workers have a median weekly wage of A$714 and A$900 respectively. The figures reflect the pay gap between different occupations and show continued growth in demand for highly skilled positions, particularly in management and professional fields.
